I found Pilates when I was in the midst of a back injury during my senior year of college. It was the only thing that helped alleviate the pressure in my pelvis and SI joint. For many years prior to discovering Pilates, my body had taken a beating with all the physical demands and impact of gymnastics and dance. I was finally feeling better and stronger than ever when I starting training in Pilates. And I have not strayed from it since 1999! I love how it challenges me, connects my mind and body, increases my flexibility and range of motion, and the physical results of lean muscle tone.
